Full-size sheets up to 24×36 at 300 or 600 DPI, the resolutions worth putting on paper. Members get a code; paste it here.

Pick an era and a size, then draw the print area on the map. Drag the box to move it, the light handle rotates, the dark corner resizes.
The dashed gold line is the edge of the quadrangle you are on. Neighbouring sheets were printed in different years on different paper, so keep the frame inside that line and the print stays one continuous map.

Sheets: USGS Historical Topographic Map Collection, served by Esri Living Atlas. The scans are public domain. The title block reads the real sheet's name, survey year, and imprint year from the catalog.
