8.26 km (5.13 mi) — the deepest you can get

Algonquin covers 7,610 km², more ground than Prince Edward Island, and Ontario’s own road files put just 300 km of public road inside it. The park is also a single licensed Forest Management Unit, and 2,150 km of logging road run through it, most of it gated or signed against public traffic and all of it road on the ground. Count them and the deepest you can stand from a road is 8.26 km. Leave them out and it would be 27 km. For scale: the Adirondack Park, well under half the size, beats it on both counts — 9.16 km from a road and 5.99 km from a road or trail (that map is here). Ohio’s Wayne National Forest tops out at 1.38 km.
