Tools that draw a part while you watch and hand you the file to make it: mostly STLs for the printer, plus one for the laser and one for card and scissors. Nothing is uploaded, nothing needs an account, and everything here is free to print, remix and sell.

Build a part

Tolerance Kit The one to print first. A row of holes each five hundredths wider than the last, arms that bend until they give, and collars down a shaft. It turns your printer and the spool in front of it into four numbers, and every tool here can then use them. press, slip and running fits · snap arm strain · kept for the other tools Adapter Maker Joins two round or oval ports that were never meant to meet. Give it the two sizes, say whether each end goes inside or over, and it draws the taper between them. round or oval · inside or over · four fits Bracket Maker A shelf bracket, a corner, a mount at whatever odd angle the wall actually is. Set the two legs, the thickness and the brace, and put the screw holes where they need to be. any angle · any leg · holes where you want them Hook Maker A coat, a bike, a garden hose, the extension cord. Say what is going on it and it draws the hook, then tells you what that hook actually holds and which part of it gives first. screws, adhesive or over a door · rated in kilograms Bushing & Standoff Maker The hole is too big, the bolt is too small, or two things need holding a set distance apart. Give it the hole it goes into and the bolt that goes through it, and it draws the tube in between. spacers, sleeves, standoffs and grommets · nuts sunk in the top · a plateful at a time Keychain Maker Type a name and get a keychain back: letters standing on a rounded plate, riding a bar, or the letters alone, joined up into one piece. six fonts · plate, bar or joined · two colour option

How these work

Nothing leaves the page

The geometry is built by Javascript in your browser, a triangle at a time, and the STL is assembled there too. No server sees the part, and there is nothing to sign up for.

It comes out lying the way it prints

Every part is oriented for the bed, so it goes into the slicer flat and needs no supports. Millimetres throughout, and a binary STL any slicer will open.

The first one is a test print

Printers disagree about holes by a few tenths of a millimetre, so anything that has to fit something else is worth printing small and once before you print it for real. Where a tool can loosen or tighten a fit, it says so.
